Mythological Culture: Also known as Bilgames, Gilgamesh is the mythological figure best known as an acclaimed hero and demigod in Mesopotamian mythology who embarks on different journeys, all documented in The Epic of Gilgamesh. Historians claim that Gilgamesh was a real king of the Sumerian city-state of Uruk between 2700 and 2500 B.C.E.

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the mythological figure Utnapishtim from Mesopotamian mythology.
Mythological Culture: Utnapishtim is the mythological figure and a descendent of Gilgamesh best known for creating a giant ship called the “Preserver of Life” so that beings can be transported safely from a flood that would wipe all life. Utnapishtim’s preservation of life was rewarded with immortality and an invitation to join the Mesopotamian pantheon.

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the god Dumuzid from Mesopotamian mythology.
Mythological Culture: Also known as Tammux, Dumuzid is the god of shepherds, vegetation, fertility, and the husband of the goddess Inanna. Dumuzid spends half of the year in the underworld as a sacrificial compromise for not mourning for Inanna when she descended into the underworld. Dumuzid’s sacrifice gave birth to the changing seasons.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Ishtar by the Akkadians, Inanna is the goddess of love, beauty, war, political power, and the husband of the god Dumuzid. Inanna was labelled as the “Queen of Heaven” and is a contradicting deity as she is a fertility figure who is known to be impulsive and better known for her combat capabilities instead of her maternity.
