Eternals of Olympia

They are the Eternals community equivalent to the United States. This is the location of temporal mastery for Eternals society and the Prime Eternal Zuras, leader of all the Eternals resides here.

Zuras

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the god Zeus from Greek mythology.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Jupiter in Roman mythology, Zeus is the god of thunder, lightning, rain, and winds. Zeus is the ruler of the Greek pantheon in Mount Olympus, he is the most revered and popular deity of the Greek pantheon.

Ikaris

First Appearance: Eternals #1 (April, 1976)

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the mythological figures Icarus and Daedalus from Greek mythology.

Mythological Culture: Ikaris is the mythological figure who wore wings held by wax but flew too close to the sun and fell to his death whilst Daedalus is the mythological figure of architecture and craftsmanship, he is the creator of the labyrinth.

Sprite

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the fictional figure Puck from William Shakespear’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Robin Goodfellow, Puck is based on the mischievous and domesticated mythical creature of the same name from the fairy family of mythical creatures.

Rakar

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the god Raka-maomao from Polynesian mythology.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Raka from Cooks Island mythology, Raka-maomao is the god of the storms and the god of the winds which blow from the south and the north.

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the goddess Circe from Greek mythology.

Mythological Culture: Circe is a goddess of sorcery who used her vast knowledge of herbs, potions, and her magic wand to transform those that deeply offended her into animals.

Perse

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the mythological figure Perse from Greek mythology.

Mythological Culture: Perse is one of 3,000 Oceanic water-nymph, a family of mythical creatures that were birthed from the Titans Oceanus and Tethys, deities that were the precursor to the Greek god pantheon.

Helios

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the god Helios from Greek mythology.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Sol in Roman mythology, Helios is the god of the sun, oaths, and sight. Helios is often depicted wearing a radiant crown and was involved with developing ancient magic.

Domo

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the mythical figure Domovoy from Slavic mythology.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Domowik, Domovoy is a mythical creature most often depicted as an elderly man. They are a household spirit that claims spiritual ownership of the home it resides in and protects the family who resides in its home.

Mythological Culture: Known as Vulcan in Roman mythology, Hephaestus is the god of blacksmith, metalworking, sculpting and metallurgy. He is best known for making weapons and gadgets for the Olympian pantheon with his unparalleled skill in design.

Mythological Culture: Queen Mab is the fictional figure based on the Irish Medb and is known as the “fairy’s midwife” as she helps those who are in sleep give birth to dreams.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Dionysus in Greek mythology, Bacchus is the god of wine, harvests, fruits, vegetation, ecstasy, and festivity. His gifts had the ability to possess those who partake in Bacchus’ festivities with the possessed feeling carefree.

Horned Kernnis

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the mythological figure Caeneus from Greek mythology.

Mythological Culture: Originally a woman called Caenis, Caeneus is the mythological figure known for having intercourse with the sea-god Poseidon, they requested Poseidon to change their sex to a man so that they could no longer bear a child.

Fionnmak

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the mythological figure Fionn mac Cumhaill from Irish mythology.

Mythological Culture: Also known as Finn MacCool, Fionn mac Cumhaill is the mythological figure known as a hunter-warrior who had a loyal following called the Fianna. Many believe that Fionn mac Cumhaill is not dead but sleeps in a cave surrounded by the Fianna and that he will arise again when the hunting horn is sounded.

Kingo Sunen

Mythological Inspiration: This Eternal is inspired by the god Kingu from Babylonian mythology.

Mythological Culture: Also spelt as Qingu, Kingu is the consort of the salt sea goddess Tiamat and went to war against the other Babylonian gods as the general of her army. Kingu was gifted the Tablet of Destinies by Tiamat which he wielded as a breastplate that granted him great power.
